A rally kit that will complete the functionality, protection and looks on your T700 like nothing else!
The kit contains a navigation tower, designed from scratch and dedicated to the iconic Yamaha T700. This, all new, navigation tower replaces the stock structure, it is much more stable yet light, and allows for a variety of instruments to be installed on the tower. The navigation tower is complemented by a protective and functional ‘dress’ for your T700, which will give unparallel functionality, better accessibility and tank protection and all of that without the need to modify any hard parts of your bike.
What’s included in the kit:
The unique design of the CNC bracket for the backplate, allows the rider to either install the OEM instrument panel and a GPS or a mobile phone, move the OEM speedo to the handlebars and allow for two digital devices or a large rugged tablet to be installed, while for the racers, the navigation instruments can be installed much like in any other rally kit that we have in the market, allowing you to fully explore the racing capabilities of your bike. The bracket is not only rigid, yet lightweight, but adjustable to four different positions (away and towards the rider) and can be replaced with other Aurora back plate accessories should you want to have only your action camera for example, while the OEM speedo is on the handlebars. This layout allows you for infinite setups and maximum customization, further enabling you to innovate as far as action videos is concerned.
The tower is assembled from CNC parts, so there is maximum strength, yet it’s lightweight and due to the simplicity of the Yamaha, there are no cables that will be hanging from the sides of your tower. The screen is attached via a stainless-steel bracket, which allows not only to adjust the screen height, but should you lay down the bike, the bracket will take the hit, protecting the windshield and the navigation tower. The CNC machined side plates further improve the reliability of the system, and should you crash hard enough, the side plates will give up, protecting not only the instruments, but the expensive light assembly as well.
The adjustability of the stock light is not only difficult to perfect, but there is not enough travel to allow the lights to point further down, sometimes resulting in blinding oncoming traffic. To compensate for that we introduced a unique system that will permit you to adjust the lighting structure, independent of the screen, allowing you to find the perfect spot for every riding style. Even if the bike is loaded, you will be able to adjust the light with just one bolt, and there is no need to remove anything from the bike to do that.
The stock position of the instrument panel is perfect, yet the structure is known to vibrate a lot during off road riding, making difficult to focus, creating a fuzzy effect. With the Aurora T700 Rally kit, not only the stability of the system is improved, but the position can be chosen based on what the rider needs. Commuting, adventurous riding or racing, the position of the instrument panel can be changed at will to give you the optimum solution for your ride.
Yes. But this time for the light structure. The light of the Yamaha T700 is unique. It houses some very powerful, yet small LED units and it weights close to 2kgs. That’s quite a beast! The spider clamp is a state-of-the-art billet part, machined out of a solid block of Aluminum. This is the lightest clamp that was ever designed from the Aurora Rally Equipment engineers. To give you an analogy, the T700 clamp is 40mm longer and wider from the 701 spider clamp, yet it is lighter and just as strong.
As always, we carefully design each part to give you maximum reliability. Since 2016, there are zero failures of this critical part, both when winning races and during adventurous riding. This year we went a step further and used generative design to improve the shape of the clamp, remove material where it is not needed to keep the front of the bike as light as possible, yet preserved the strength and stiffness that is required. This clamp will serve you for the life of your vehicle, and will complement the looks of your T700, as it will be anodized to much the color scheme of your bike!
Further, it will support the lighting structure and allow you to place (with zip ties) some light parts on it. Rain gear or an emergency kit comes to mind, but not anything that is relatively heavy (maximum 0.5kg). Adding heavy elements on that part of the bike, will alter the riding characteristics and we would not want that! This way the front end will not feel different and the reliability of the system will not be compromised.
Pioneering back in 2016, Aurora Rally Equipment still leads the way in purposely built kits for bikes without the need to modify the hard parts of your bike. This allows you to fully return the bike to its stock condition. There is no need to modify the harness of your T700, drill or tap anything. This is just a plug and play kit.
Seeing is believing
Yamaha set a new standard when the T7 prototype was unveiled, a bike with unique looks, based on Dakar inspired replicas. The civil T700 inherited some of the features of the T7 prototype, but the constraints were such that the looks were altered. The Aurora T700 rally kit, changes the looks of your bike, but make no mistake, this is not only a neat dress for your bike. It’s a protective and functional layer which makes the bike a joy to ride. The tank cover, made out of Glass or Carbon fiber (customer’s choice) will protect the expensive tank of the bike, which is prone to get damaged during falls, while the side panels and the geometry of the kit, will allow you to have a full visual of the front wheel, getting away safely in any type of terrain.
We took extra care to split the side panels so that you can replace only the ones that got damaged, should things get nasty, while you will still be able to undress the bike quickly and efficiently. Form follows function.
Having experienced Eco Race firsthand in 2017, it became obvious to our engineers that both travelers and racers share some needs. Both bikes need to be undressed easily and quickly. Neither a traveler, nor a racer would want to spend the night out, taking 20 bolts out, and then trying to remember which goes where. It’s not safe and it’s not fun! This kit, brings this racing experience and will allow you to undress your bike a lot easier and quicker than a stock T700.
Should you get into a situation that you need to undress the bike on the side of the road, you can quickly and easily access any of the parts underneath.
