Deze rugged heavy duty 100% waterproof tablet is het neusje van de zalm voor navigatie. De tablet op zich is al een compleet pakketje maar er zijn tal van uitbreidingsmogelijkheden. Alsook heeft de Carpe Iter veel meer in zijn mars dan alleen maar navigeren. Het blijft immers een volledige functionele tablet die je zowel thuis als tijdens je ritten en reizen kan gebruiken voor je favoriete apps.
Je klikt de Carpe Iter in zijn mount en die begint automatisch op te laden nadat er meer dan 13,5V geregistreerd wordt. Met andere woorden, als de motor niet draait, zal hij automatisch stoppen met opladen, onmogelijk een platte batterij te hebben indien je vergeet de tablet uit de houder te nemen.
Bij regenweer blokkeer je het touchscreen met de bedieningsknoppen aan je stuur, op die manier heb je geen last van de waterdruppels die anders een glijdende vinger simuleren en je kaart of app in verwarring brengen. Met de extra knoppen op het stuur kan je dan nog steeds de tablet bedienen. Extra handig als je vlug moet in en uit zoomen om je positie te bepalen. Deze bedieningsknoppen zijn Bluetooth gestuurd en krijgen ook voeding vanaf de motor.
Wij gebruiken maps.me, Osmand en de betalende Guru Maps app om te navigeren met de Carpe Iters, nochtans zijn voorgenoemde apps niet de enige die mogelijk zijn. Zolang je GPX-tracks hebt, kan je met de Carpe Iter vertrekken op verkenning of een leuke rit afrijden.

Incredible tablet for the outdoor person and adventure rider
One of the few Android devices that doesn't require a million updates from new and also has every accessory one needs to get up and running, like SIM card adapters and USBC to USB Mini converters and of course, cables and a mains charger
The product itself is well made,. the screen is super bright and the battery does last a day with full use
It has a more than capable 8-core CPU with a fairly decent GPU cobbled into the silicone
The 8GB RAM is a game changer, loads apps faster than many "brand" names, plus it has that generous 128GB storage as default, as well as the ability to add/remove a Micro SD through the spring loaded slot
It comes with Android 9 complete using Lawnchair launcher as well as Carpe's custom interface and one can change the choice of launcher on boot, as the tablet comes with Magisk to allow root access on the fly
The Carpe DMD2 App is excellent, it is just what an Adventure rider needs, it covers all bases, speed, heading, maps, including the ability to download offline maps
it also comes with the Carpe controller setup app, which allows one to pair and tune your carpe handlebar controller to your requirement
It's application suite is very basic, so no Google suite pre-installed, only Play Store which is all one would have to access the Google store and download what you need and/or any other apps like the TET app, for example
Also, zero bloatware on this device at all, and the ability to remove the Google launch/search bar from the home screen, keeping that home screen real estate freed up for shortcuts and widgets
The GPS sensor can update positions from 1-5Hz or 1-5 times/per second, with accuracy down to a metre - tuneable via the GPS Tune app
The cameras are as I expected, they do the job with its' 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, this is an outdoor device, not a pseudo DSLR with a phone attached and the cameras use the simple Android camera interface
Some may moan about this "only being 4G", but it does the job just fine
Most people would never acquire a 5G signal in the middle of nowhere, which is where this tablet is designed to be, the 4G is more than capable
The lockable carpe mount is excellent, it comes with the dual power feeds, one via the cradle's charging points and the other via CIPAD screw in cable. It fits perfect on the Rally Tower mount on my 790 Adv R with the adapter ordered from this online site
If you're looking for a real explorer/adventure type tablet, this is it, it's not a gaming tablet, but a serious piece of outdoor kit for those who need a tablet tough and capable enough to handle life's outdoor adventures

Tijd voor een nieuwe gps. Na enkele modellen Garmin gehad te hebben, ook eens TomTom 450 gehad, en enkele jaren tripy. Voornamelijk straatgebruik, doch ook liefst met de mogelijkheid tot off Road.
Kijken naar een Garmin Montana, of een Garmin zumo xt. Uiteindelijk gegaan voor de Carpe iter, en verre van spijt van.
Afhankelijk van wat je wanneer wil bepaal je zelf op welke gps app je rijdt.
Routeyou, my route app, osmand, kurviger, Google maps, coyote NAV, alles kan, indien en nodig zelfs 2 apps in gesplit scherm.
In en uitzoomen en enkele simpele bewerkingen kunnen via de bluetooth controller op het stuur...
Houder mooi boven het motordisplay ingewerkt door Glenn.
Standaard afsluitbaar met sleutel.
Rijden kan offline op gedownloade kaarten, of online via 4g via een gedeelde sim kaart met het gsm abonnement...
Beste gps aankoop ooit.
