A punctured radiator in the backcountry is a trip-ending problem. The R 1300 GS radiator sits exposed, and sticks or rocks kicked up on trail can reach it easily. This guard puts anodized aluminum between the debris and the cooling system.
The louver geometry does two jobs: it deflects debris and channels air through the radiator at the same time. The guard sits a minimum half inch from the radiator face to keep airflow unrestricted.
Installation is straightforward. The guard matches the exact contours of the shroud, so there are no spacers to fit, no extra hardware to source, and no fairings to remove. It mounts directly and securely using the existing geometry of the shroud.
